Caring for your plant:
- In heavy soils, mix in grit when planting to improve drainage
- Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly from spring until flowering and water regularly during the growing season
- In cold areas apply a deep, dry mulch of bark chips or straw, or grow in a pot so they can be overwintered in an unheated greenhouse
- Divide overcrowded agapanthus plants in spring but remember that the roots do like being restricted
