July often is one of the hottest months of the year, meaning it can be a great time to sit out in the garden. You’ll need to keep plants looking good by regular deadheading to enjoy longer displays. Make sure you’re keeping plants well-watered and hoe off any weeds which will thrive in the sunshine.
Webbs Grounds team have compiled their list of the top jobs to do in the garden this month:

Check clematis for any signs of wilting.

Ensure your houseplants are getting enough water if it begins to get warm.

Water tubs and new plants if dry but be careful not to overwater.

Deadhead bedding plants and repeat-flowering perennials, to ensure continuous flowering.

Pick courgettes before they become marrows.

Treat apple scab.

Clear algae, blanket weeds and debris from ponds and remember to keep them topped up.

Order catalogues for next years spring-flowering bulbs.

Give the lawn a quick-acting summer feed but ensure you don’t feed the wildflower patches or meadows.

Harvest any apricots, peaches or nectarines.
