- Outdoors Sowing Guide: Sow outdoors thinly where they are to crop, 1.5cm (1/2") deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Allow 15cm (6") between rows. Early sowing may benefit from cloche protection. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. No thinning is required if sown thinly, but keep well watered in dry spells. Harvest when the leaves start to bend down and yellow.
